The problem

Most people get financial advice in pieces.

Your insurance agent doesn't talk to your accountant. Your tax preparer sees your year only after it's over.

By then the only question left is how accurately the past gets recorded. The result is a plan full of gaps: coverage you don't need, tax you didn't have to pay, and accounts that quietly work against each other.

Phoenix West exists to close those gaps. We look at your protection, your savings, your taxes, and your books as one connected system — because that is how they actually behave.

Seven decisions, one file

British Columbia

We work where our clients live, and we have read the provincial rules as well as the federal ones.

The financial year

A tax bill is decided across twelve months, not one week in April.

These are standing Canadian dates. The last one changes your number more than any of the others, and it is the only one nobody sends you a reminder about.

  1. 1 Jan New TFSA room is added
  2. 2 Mar RRSP deadline for last year
  3. 30 Apr Personal return and balance owing
  4. 15 Jun Self-employed return due — payment was still due 30 April
  5. 15 Sep One of four quarterly instalments
  6. 31 Dec Last day for almost everything that changes this year’s bill

RRSP contributions are the main exception to 31 December — those still count against last year until 2 March. Corporate returns run on their own clock: a T2 is due six months after the fiscal year end, whichever date you set.

Start here

Where you start depends on who you are.

You don't need all seven. Pick whichever description fits and we'll show you the order we would normally work in.

Why clients choose us

Five things we do differently.

One team, full picture

You explain your situation once. Insurance, investing, tax, and bookkeeping are handled by people who are all looking at the same file.

Plain language, always

No jargon walls. We explain what something does, what it costs, and what happens if you do nothing — then you decide.

Built for real life

Newcomers, self-employed people, growing families, first-time business owners. We work with situations that don't fit a template.

Year-round, not seasonal

We're not a tax booth that disappears in May. Your file stays open, and so does the conversation.

Multilingual service

Complex financial decisions are hard enough in your second language. We work in English and Farsi.

How it works

Five steps, no pressure at any point.

Who you will be working with

A father and a son, looking at the same file.

Phoenix West was founded by Askar Hajipoor and Harry Hajipoor. One brings decades of watching how financial decisions play out over a lifetime. The other brings current licensing, modern systems and fluency in the Canadian rules as they stand today.

Clients get both perspectives on the same file, which is unusual, and turns out to matter.

Year-round

Your file stays open after April. So does the conversation.

Let's start with a conversation.

The first meeting is free and there is no obligation. Bring your questions — even the ones you think are too basic. Especially those.
